The custom sloop SEA ANNE was built to a preliminary design by Ocke Mannerfelt. It fell to the Hinckley design office to complete the engineering and detailing of this complex yacht, entailing some significant alterations from the original drawings. Steve’s role was to produce the bulk of the production drawings, including a radical re-drawing of the yacht’s sheer line, detailing of her complicated raised panel interior joinery, and a workable deck plan. As project engineer, Steve served as the client liaison, wrote the detailed Owner’s Manual, oversaw the yacht’s commissioning, and sailed many of her first couple thousand miles at sea. This was a special project that resulted in an extraordinary sailing yacht.
